It’s Up to You
Each time, as the year turns, that I need to write this little piece I wait to see what I should write about. It seems that the world is changing so quickly and sometimes I don’t have the title for the editorial until the last few days before it is time to publish. This time it came to me in a flash yesterday about 3 weeks before the Solstice. I am very pleased because I like to give Sara plenty of time to produce and edit this Newsletter. Thank you, Sara.
There seems to be turning points in our human history. Only a few years ago here in the West we had BC and AD (before Christ & after Christ) and this year is supposedly 2,024 year after Christ. Then Covid comes along and seemed to be a seminal moment, this time it is BC & AC. Now only four years later we have BT and AT (before Trump’s election & after Trump’s election).
During the time BT information, opinions and the world appeared black and white, good and bad. There was a sense that there was an easy to see division, a clarity in the order of things.
Now that great divide seems to have gone. There is even more confusion and lack of firm ground on which to discern the truth of our global situation however well informed one might be. We are in a transitional phase of fluctuation. I have always tried to be very discerning about where I get my information and who I listen to. I question their integrity and sources but the foundations on which to form any real opinion has dropped away.
There is no firm ground during a time of fundamental change, that is the nature of change and that is where we are right now.
The only place left to go is inwards. What a relief, letting go of the world out there and focusing only on my world. It’s not being hard hearted and uncaring; it’s about being real. My world is where I can make a difference, it’s where I am not pulled this way and that looking for truth. The only truth here in my life is my truth with no pulling at my emotions by external events. There is more stillness and peace. Turning inwards has brought a place of peace on the earth that is mine, and I take that peace with me wherever I go. Not having watched a news item on a TV for over 12 years I thought I was accessing the truth by looking at independent sources. There is not TRUTH out there. The only real truth I can access is my truth, my direct experience.
The sun has just risen and there is a gentle pink light creeping over the trees at the other side of the valley. Is it real or man-made my mind will want to ask? Is it true light or engineered? Will there be another streaked sky of chem-trails today? I don’t know and I don’t need to even ask the question. All I need to know is, Is the pink light pleasant to my eyes now? Does it look beautiful right now? Does it bring me joy in this moment?
The only truth is what is real here right now. Everything that we might think we are experiencing is in fact only a thought. If we simply come back to the question, what am I experiencing, rather than what am I thinking? and right now there is peace.
A valuable meditation for right now is the ‘Feeling Body Meditation’ in the 1&2 manual. It is so simple. It brings you out of the mind and into the now. You perceive yourself as the light of consciousness which is what you truly are.
The only thing that you can know to be true is your own experience. This does not include a thought about a past or future anticipated experience, nor does it include information from outside sources.
In the Northern Hemisphere it is Autumn. Nature is closing down, returning home, shedding its summer show and being still. Living with the seasons is a wonderful blessing. We are in the winter of our own experience.

Distant Healing
By Joanne Ow
I would like to share this lovely experience using Angelic Reiki Distant Healing.
I was attending Angelic Reiki 9 days’ workshop this November. This incident happened on Day 6 of the workshop at 4am. I was wakened by a phone call from the pet boarding centre (kennel). It was a WhatsApp group call where the nanny wanted to reach out to my brother in Singapore but unintentionally, reached out to me as well.
My brother had brought my pet, Didi to the pet boarding centre for a day care service. As this was the first time we boarded Didi in this new place, we booked a day care service so that he could familiar himself with the environment. We wanted to prepare him in advance so that we could board him in the centre for a long period of time, when we go for holidays later.
The feedback from the nanny to us was that Didi was very emotionally unstable and anxious. He even attempted to sneak out from the centre. My brother had already left the boarding centre and needed to run some errands before he returned to check on Didi. We asked the nanny to keep a close watch on Didi so that he would not run away.
A thought came to me after the call ended. A few of our classmates were discussing about distant/virtual healing and Christine had also shared her experiences and stories with us. Since I was already awake at 4am, I decided to do an Angelic Reiki distant healing that I learned on the previous day.
I dedicated and cleared the space for preparation and took a few moments with a couple of deep breaths to stay calm. I set my intention to connect with Didi and virtually saw him lying down comfortably. I called forth the most perfect energy to Didi for this healing. When I was ready for the healing process, I visualized my left finger touching one of his paws and my right hand was placed on his stomach. I visualized a big angel wing surrounding both Didi and myself. I held the space and allowed the Angelic Reiki energy to flow. I could feel that the energy has “combined” both of us into one entity. Whenever there were some images in my mind, I recited silently that “I am an angel” to stay conscious as I was holding the space for this healing. At the end of the healing, I asked Archangel Michael to anchor the energy into my pet and gave him thanks for this. I withdrew the Angelic Reiki energy and when it had completely faded, I visualised myself removing both my hands from Didi’s body. I disconnected completely through the movement of my hand. The healing process took about ten minutes.
I received a text message from the nanny right after the ten minute healing session. She feedbacked that Didi had calmed down a lot and started to mingled and play with other pets at the centre.

It was really amazing and a beautiful experience where I had just learned the modality and applied it instantly on my loved ones. It’s so simple and yet a very powerful healing experience.

Who You Are!
By Sara Neves de Sousa
In the last few months something came to my attention again. This is something that from time to time reappears, and what is it? I will tell in the next lines of this article.
It came to my attention that people still confuse WHO they are with what they DO!
Have you ever noticed that when you ask someone who they are, they immediately go to some version of:
- I’m a mother or father;
- I’m a doctor or a nurse;
- I’m a teacher or a student;
- I do this and and do that…
This is not who they are, this is what they do! i.e. their roles in society.
Are we so disconnected from who we are? I believe so (not all of us of course). This misaligned view of who we are is getting more and more obvious in these days, or maybe it’s just obvious for me.
Our society makes us believe that if we don’t have anything palpable to show for, we kind of, don’t exist for the rest of the world and for me this is a big issue. If we don’t know who we are, we are going to go down a slippery slop and when we get to the bottom of it we will have lost the sight of who we truly are.
And then comes something even greater, that is ego driven, WE NEED TO BE BETTER, FASTER, MORE INTELLIGENT AND HAVE MORE THINGS than other people, because if we don’t, we are failing!
There is an energy of competition in the air that not only can be felt, but you can almost grab it, because of its density. Didn’t we learn anything? (I don’t mean everyone, of course).
It’s my belief that we are far worse, in this thing we call life, than ever before, there is no union, not that I can see, there’s only separation, anxiety, feelings of failure, because unfortunately we still live in an energy of competition and somehow that makes people feel better, the illusory feeling of being better than another person.
Example: “If I am better than you at anything (it doesn’t matter what it is), I Am Better!” The question is: “Better at what?”, at living?
Life isn’t a flat line, and we can learn something from the beating of our hearts, because if the line is flat, we are dead.
Life is full of ups and downs, of really beautiful and joyous moments, but with those not so good and really bad moments, at least from the perspective of this dual world we live in and this notion of what is good and bad, the truth isn’t good or bad, it just is, but we humans have this need to put things in neat boxes, but that’s another discussion.
Let’s get back on track.
Why do people still have this need to show off in front of other people? (btw I don’t have a definitive answer for this).
I have recently seen people diminishing others by displaying their diplomas, showing off what they think they are and what they do to make others feel less than them, to put themselves in a higher place (btw there is no such thing as a higher place), boasting and gloating…what has this humanity come to? (I don’t have a definitive answer for this either).
Well, what I would love is that this reflection of mine led you to make a reflection of your own, to think deeply about this. Is this what we “want” for ourselves and for humankind?
I really think that we, as humans, need to do a soul search, because unfortunately most people, even if they say they are doing spiritual work and doing what they believe is a good “job”, they’re not, I have seen this first-hand and I know exactly what I’m talking about, don’t believe me? Question everything and everyone! Question this article, please, do it. But at the end of the day, when you are alone, do me a favour, go through all the things that happened in that day and try to see if this resonates in anyway.
Don’t believe my words, go and see for yourself. I don’t have the WHOLE TRUTH, but this is my truth!
Don’t trust something just because it comes from someone in a “higher position”, there is no such thing as a “higher position”, or perceived “higher position”, we are all here living a different reality, we don’t have the same stuff to go through and because of that we don’t see things from the same space or place.
Let’s finish this year with a PROMISE!
To be faithful to WHO WE ARE!
That is what I wish for 2025!
Love Blessings,
Sara

Student: ” What is the path to liberation?”
Seng-t’san: ” Who binds you?”
Student: ” No one binds me?”
Seng-t’san: ” Why then do you want to be liberated?”
This text illustrates perfectly how we have a perception that we should be more than we already are. It is a nagging doubt that there is something missing in our lives, that we can be more than we are in this moment. Asked what that thing is we have no answer, we have no definition of that which we seek the most. So therefore the illusion is laid bare. It is the perception that we are missing something, that we are lacking something which causes most of our suffering.

The aim of Zen is to focus the attention on reality itself, instead of on our intellectual and emotional reactions to reality – reality being the ever-changing, ever-growing, indefinable something known as “life,” which will never stop for a moment for us to fit it satisfactorily into any rigid system of pigeon holes and ideas.
Alan Watts.
This text perfectly describes the aim of Zen, which is to contemplate reality itself. Although we believe we do this every day in actual fact this is erroneous. What we focus on is our actions and re-actions of how we perceive this reality. Reality exists as it is. It is not changed by our thoughts concerning it yet we believe those very thoughts are its definition. No matter how hard we try to fit reality into a system of beliefs or ideas we will always fail. This is because reality is unquantifiable, unpredictable, and unknowable by our conscious mind.

T’ao-ch’ien asked a fellow monk to accompany him on a long journey to help him in his study of Zen. His friend said, “I’ll certainly try to help you in any way I can, but there are some things you must do yourself.”
“What do you mean?” asked T’ao-ch’ien. His friend replied, “Well, my eating and drinking will not fill your stomach. When you want to urinate, there is nothing I can do about it. And only you can make your body walk along the road.” This answer opened T’ao-Ch’iens mind and he made the journey alone.
This student had the perception that Zen has to be imparted through verbal teachings and doctrines. His fellow monk pointed out that living the journey, being a human being doing journey in all its aspects is Zen.

However much you try through logical reasoning and definition to know your original face before your birth or your original home, you are doomed to failure. Even if you search the core of your being, becoming full of questioning, you won’t find anything that you could call a personal mind or essence. Yet when someone calls your name, something in you hears and responds.
Find out who it is! Find out now!
Bassui Tokusho.
At the very core of your being there is no personal mind or essence. If someone calls your name and you respond, ask, “Who is it that hears?”
Thank you
