SHAMBALLA

I left my teaching career to train as a homoeopath. As I came to the end of my 4-year training, I set up an alternative healing centre in my local town. There was a group of alternative practitioners; acupuncture, massage, hypnosis, etc., who worked from the clinic.

A young masseur joined the centre after we’d been open for about 6 months and one Monday morning, she brought me a leaflet about a workshop that was happening in a town about an hour and a half’s drive away from where I lived. This workshop was called Shamballa Reiki. Although I had not been interested in Reiki before then, this workshop really resonated, so I booked my place. It was the first spiritual workshop that I had taken.

John Armitage was a remarkable person and teacher, and a direct channel from the Ascended Masters. Throughout the 1990s, I offered these Shamballa Reiki workshops at my healing centre.

Many years later, Kevin and I taught our first Shamballa workshop together. The use of the Reiki symbols as the energetic vehicle to bring in the Shamballa energy was dropped in about the year 2000, so, naturally, the attunements that Kevin and I offered were facilitated by the Archangels. We also offered wisdom teachings about the nature of the 13 dimensions of creation.

This is the workshop I offer now in 2026. We have just completed a beautiful 5-day class.

As many of you will know, the Shamballa energy and teachings were one of the spiritual disciplines that informed the philosophy and practice of Angelic Reiki when Kevin first put the elements of those workshops together.

So, what is Shamballa? It is a place, a philosophy, a level of consciousness, the nature of the sixth dimension, the principal archetype of love and warrior, a way of living in harmony. It is known as a diamond light reflecting the truth and love from all its facets. It has 144,000 facets or faces. This is the collective consciousness of the Ascended Masters.

Just to say a little bit about the Ascended Masters: the Ascended Masters are human people who lived on Earth and, either during their life or through the process of dying, became enlightened. An enlightened person holds everything in the energy of Unconditional Love.

Unconditional love is a term that is used quite often but not always understood. As soon as the idea of Unconditional Love is shared, our human minds naturally assume that it is representing beauty and kindness, creation, etc., but Unconditional Love has no conditions. It is the unifying force, as expressed in the Yin and Yang symbol, that brings everything back to wholeness and oneness. It is said that there is a civilisation living within the Earth known as Shamballa. The culture, creativity, way of life, and residents act and live from the consciousness of Unconditional Love.

As I write this, I am reminded of a dream I had many years ago, just after teaching a Shamballa workshop. In the dream, I was walking in the countryside and came across a beautiful valley and waterfall. On the edge of the valley overlooking the waterfall was the most beautiful tree covered with exquisite blossoms. For some reason, which was not obvious within the dream, I decided to destroy this tree. I then looked around, the beings observing this happening had no opinion, judgement, or words to say. It was immediately, automatically regarded and accepted as just as it was. No angry faces or words. No judgement. It was just unconditionally observed.

I can remember in the dream realising that I was being taught how Unconditional Love is absolutely without conditions. It is hard for us to understand. We are full of opinions and judgments. We classify everything as either good or bad, acceptable or unacceptable. The truth is that we only see something from our perspective, and the lack of judgement allows us to understand from a higher perspective and discover acceptance for everything.

Perhaps it is that, actually, in the fullness of time, the tree in my dream would flourish and blossom more strongly than before. When we drop judgement and accept that we do not know, then everything can shine in the light of Unconditional Love. It is not easy to see the world today through the lens of Unconditional Love. Perhaps the closest we can come to viewing everything in this way is to be very aware of our opinions and to endeavour to move beyond them. In truth, we do not know what is best. With simple acceptance comes peace, and with peace comes love. I think one of the most challenging situations to view through the light of Shamballa is the adolescent years of our own children. To allow them to make their mistakes, to love them anyway, and not wish it was different.

Angelic Reiki requires a practitioner and teacher to come from the place of Shamballa. This is why, when offering a healing, before we connect to a person, we observe our own thoughts, feelings, and opinions. As the healer, the questions to ask oneself are:

  • Do I hope the recipient enjoys the healing?
  • Do I hope it will make them better?
  • Do I hope they will feel more relaxed?
  • Do I worry about doing the healing process correctly?
  • Am I concerned about the energy that will come in?

The recipient feeling peaceful after a healing session is not a sign of success. Angelic energy is not only the focus of light; it is the focus of truth. Perhaps the recipient experienced some trauma during childhood, and the energy brings this to the surface in order to be processed and forgiven.

As I said in an earlier newsletter, the word “healing” does not mean to make better and improve. Angels are the absolute essence of unconditional love. There is no opinion or judgement, just love, and we, as the practitioners and teachers of Angelic Reiki, are required to harmonise with this energy. In the first law of healing, Djwhal Khul states that all disease is disconnection from the soul. Our job with the Angelic Kingdom is to offer a space that allows a deep reconnection to the soul to unfold unconditionally, whatever that might bring, and it will bring the light of truth, the Love of Shamballa.

There is one final question that I would like to ask you. It is absolutely the most important question one can ever ask. Do you hold yourself in the truth and light of Shamballa?

NOTE: The picture at the top is symbolic, not literal. Figure in the middle is Lord Maitreya comes from Sanskrit maitri, meaning loving-kindness, friendliness or benevolence. In Buddhism, Maitreya is regarded as the future Buddha—the Buddha who will appear in the world when the teachings of Gautama Buddha have largely disappeared.

A more modern interpretation is that Maitreya, like angels is not a person with a body. Maitreya represents a spiritual principle of love, compassion and wisdom. This principle periodically manifests through any enlightened teacher to assist humanity’s development.

AI and Spirituality

Over the past several months, a quiet observation of the digital landscape prompted me to write this piece. Across feeds and platforms, authentic expression is being replaced by cookie-cutter posts, distinct voices flattened into identical aesthetics and algorithmic formulas.

Is this truly the direction of human expression, to surrender our individuality to systems that mirror back synthetic, copy-pasted identities?

We must cultivate sharper discernment to recognize when a tool enriches our inner life and when it simply herds us into passive conformity. That same vigilance belongs in the spiritual space, where self-proclaimed gurus and transactional therapists promise ready-made answers to questions that can only be answered from within.

In an era of instant certainty, artificial intelligence has quietly assumed the role of an omnipresent digital guru. With a single prompt, complex philosophical dilemmas, personal decisions, and profound inquiries are answered in milliseconds. The language is clean, coherent, and seemingly omniscient.

BUT AI isn’t an Oracle!

Yet, as more seekers lean entirely on these systems for clarity, a vital sacred faculty is being muted our spiritual discernment. When we outsource our thinking to machines, we risk surrendering not just analytical intellect, but the living flame of human intuition.

We need to Reclame Our Intuition and Discernment in this Algorithmic Age!

Spiritual maturity has never been about accumulating quick answers, it is about cultivating direct relationship with Truth through lived experience, stillness, and self-inquiry.

Generative models do not possess consciousness, soul, or presence. They do not draw from the akashic field or the heart’s wisdom. They are mirrors of human collective syntax, rearranging existing patterns, averages, and words. When an AI writes with serene authority, it is not channeling wisdom, it is executing statistical probability.

Believing that an algorithm holds your personal truth is modern idolatry disguised as convenience. When we treat calculated text as divine decree, we forget that wisdom is felt, tested, and integrated through the body and the heart.

When seekers accept algorithmic insight without question, three subtle shifts occur.

First, inner knowing is silenced. Intuition functions like a subtle muscle, and the more we rely on a screen for external validation, the less we trust the quiet nudges, gut instincts, and synchronicities that lead to true alignment.

Second, the sacred struggle is bypassed. Real breakthroughs rarely happen in comfort, rather, wrestling with paradox, sitting in the silence of not knowing, and enduring the creative void are precisely what transform human consciousness. By removing this void, artificial intelligence provides a painless shortcut that ultimately starves genuine self-realization.

Finally, the spirit becomes homogenized. Because these models reflect mass statistical consensus, their interpretations flatten the idiosyncratic, radical, and wild nature of individual pathfinding into standardized spiritual tropes.

It’s very important to Reclame Our Inner Compass!

Technology is neither holy nor unholy; it is an instrument. AI can serve practical organization, spark creative ideation, or organize reference material. But it must never become the steward of your soul.

True discernment requires holding two sacred practices:

  1. Question the Vessel: Ask yourself: Does this resonance arise from deep inner knowing, or simply from the elegance of the words? Never mistake polished expression for spiritual truth.
  2. Return to the Ground of Being: Before consulting a screen, consult the breath. Sit in stillness, feel the earth beneath you, and allow clarity to arise from presence rather than predictive text.

The path of awakening cannot be computed, automated, or outsourced. The answers that liberate are not retrieved from an external server, they are awakened from within.

THE ANGELIC REIKI PRIVATE MEMBER’S PORTAL

FINALLY THE BIRTH OF A WELL-GROUNDED PROFESSIONAL ORGANISATION

The complete story of Angelic Reiki now covers just over 30 years. As I’m sure you can appreciate, there have been many twists and turns during this time. It starts when Kevin first came to my healing centre in the UK to help me with some new tech, which, back in the day, was simply emails. We did several spiritual projects together, including sharing the knowledge of Shamballa and Sacred Geometry until 2001, when I decided to move on from running a healing centre and my homoeopathic practice and go travelling. During this time, Kevin created the protocol that is the basis for the Angelic Reiki workshops. Whilst I was travelling, we met up in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur and then entered our relationship when I returned in November 2003.

Kevin and I taught Angelic Reiki together, travelling to many countries around the world until his death in 2009.  It was in 2005 that we decided to go live in Egypt. Kevin would have loved being part of Angelic Reiki today, with a visible presence on social media and a sophisticated organisation using AI for new books and videos. That ideal path was not to be. Access to the internet was restricted in Egypt, and we struggled to find a way to keep in touch with people.

After his death, I was, of course, alone in Egypt, and this was also during the wars that became known as the Arab Spring. All communication was locked down during this time. I moved back to the UK in the summer of 2012, but because of the wars involving the Arab nations, I could not sell our house and buy a home in the UK.

In 2014, Angela joined me to create more support for the growing worldwide community of Angelic Reiki. We did many projects and, in 2020, launched the new angelicreikiinternational.com website. A members’ portal was our next big project. It would have provided personal space for all teachers and practitioners to publish their bio and contact details, plus videos, and a substantial amount of support material. In 2022, this members’ portal collapsed upon going live. Many personal and Angelic Reiki challenges landed in our laps during the following years. I met Yating Tian when she joined the Angelic Reiki International intensive in November 2025. She is a computer programmer and has resurrected the broken members portal.

So, with our fingers crossed, we will soon launch the Angelic Reiki International Private Members Portal.  It will only have a Teacher section at first, but we will develop the Professional Practitioners section as soon as we can.

So now, as the world collapses, ready to be reborn out of the ashes like the Phoenix, we are prepared for a new, bright, and empowering dynamic future, bringing Angelic Love and Healing to all who ask.

Some Zen Wisdom
Abraxas continues its exploration of posts from Kevin Core’s blog, which he started in January 2008 and focuses on a book by Tim Freke called Zen Wisdom.

11th May

Master Hogen asked a monk, “Look at this big old stone. Do you think it is inside or outside of your mind?”
The monk replied, “According to Buddhist teachings, everything is a projection of the mind, so I conclude that it is inside my mind.” Hogen commented, “Don’t you get tired carrying around such a heavy stone?”

This passage indicates that the mind and the stone are as heavy as each other.

25th May

Look at that rainbow.
It is only when the sky cries that you see the colors in the light.
T’ao-shan.

The zen masters always saw nature as the great teacher.

2nd June

Imitating me won’t get you anywhere.
My mind isn’t the same as yours. When your mind is the same as mine, you will be here.
Hanshan.

The master points out to the student that to imitate a master of Zen is pointless. The desire to do so comes from a mind that is in comparison, that sees this and that, has identity. Buddha-mind is boundless without qualities.

10th June

If you don’t let go of worldly worries about the future and make a living, you’ll regret it. Follow the way, or all your days and nights will have been lived for nothing.
Dogen.

This quote shows how we can be so immersed in worries about our future that we fail to live life today, leading to a life of missed opportunity, of experiencing the richness of LIFE.
